The Lemont Park District Preschool is a balanced program where your child will grow and learn in a cheerful, nurturing and stimulating environment that emphasizes a love for learning.

The funds donated by the Lemont Park Foundation enabled the District to purchase mobile, individual desks for each student. Storage units to separate supplies, new washable seating squares, and new real-play kitchen units that are easy to clean thoroughly and effectively were also purchased.
Here’s what to expect during the In-Person Preschool Academy Experience:
All classrooms have a new and updated look and layout allowing more space between students.
Updated supply list requirements and no sharing of supplies.
Smaller class sizes.
Staggered start times.
Various scheduled hand-washing will be part of each day.
Class Descriptions
- Terrific Two’s September Newsletter & Calendar
Terrific Two’s is a great way to introduce your child to a preschool setting. One of the most important aspects of early development is becoming comfortable with separation, encouraging independence and fostering communication skills. Classes will follow a weekly theme and include circle time with songs, a story, snack time, socialization and playtime. Fine and gross motor skills will be enhanced through games and crafts. Our “Young 3’s” classes were developed for children who will be three-year-olds between September 1st and December 31st. This class isan introductory that will help foster socialization and learning in a fun, safe, and caring environment. Emphasis is on social skills, separation from a parent, learning to share, take turns and independence. Daily activities include art, dramatic play and large motor play (inside and outside). Stories, songs and, FUN! The children will be introduced to colors, shapes, numbers & counting, letters, spatial relations, and learn to recognize their name. Our 3-Year-old classes are designed for children who will be three years old by September 1st. The exploration of numbers, shapes, colors, letters (and much more!) are introduced through interactive play and learning. Children are encouraged to start the development of social skills as they begin their journey toward Kindergarten. Creative art media, introduction to computers, physical education, music, dramatic play, learning to recognize, trace and write their names and, simple worksheets to enhance learning are just a few of the things your child will experience. The 3 Year-olds meet twice a week for two hours. The 4-year-old class is for children who are four years old as of September 1st. Our curriculum includes reviewing colors, shape recognition,phonetic awareness, and printing of the alphabet & numbers one through twenty. Daily worksheets include coloring, cutting and gluing. Creative art and large motor activities correspond with the letter of the week. Science, computer lab and music are tools used to help promote independent thinking as students master their kindergarten readiness skills. The four-year-old classes meet three times a week for two and a half hours each day. Classes are offered Monday, Wednesday and Fridays in the morning and afternoon. - Finally 5’s – September Newsletter & Calendar
Our “Finally 5’s” class was developed for children who will turn five-years-old between September 1st and December 31st. Students progress through our curriculum with an emphasis on daily phonic awareness to prepare for their reading, writingand verbal skills. Review of colors, numbers, shapesand letters are implemented through worksheets, large motor activities and concept time. Science, computer lab, snack time and music assist students with independence, enhance their curiosity, promote socialization and strengthen your child’s positive self-image. “Finally 5’s” advanced activities help students to master their Kindergarten readiness skills. Classes meet three days a week for two and a half hours each day and are available Monday, Wednesday and Friday in the morning.
Preschool Plus
Expand your child’s learning and development at the Lemont Park District with “Preschool Plus.” Your child will experience an extended curriculum including art, music, science, and computers as well as indoor and outdoor activities. Students that enroll in our 3-year-old, 2-day program will have the opportunity to add a Friday to their week. Students who enroll in our 4-year-old and Finally 5’s programs will have the opportunity to add Tuesday and Thursday to make a 5-day preschool week.
Preschool Enrichment

The Preschool Enrichment Program is available to students currently enrolled in the Lemont Park District’s 4-Year-Old and Finally Fives preschool program. Students will attend their regular preschool program during the morning – Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 9 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. These students can extend their preschool experience until 2:30 p.m. Students who enroll in the Enrichment Program will experience a balance of Illinois CORE standards of education in literacy, math

** A $100 Non-Refundable deposit is due at the time of registration. The deposit will be deducted from preschool tuition balance. The remaining balance will be paid in eight equal monthly installments, Sept. 10th – April 10th.
