Winter Swim Team Head Coach ~ Part-Time

SUMMARY

The head coach is responsible to oversee all assistant coaches while demonstrating excellent leadership and oral/written communication skills. It is very important for the head coach to maintain a positive working relationship with the aquatics supervisor, the assistant coaches, the swim parents and the participants. The team will need to be instructed on good sportsmanship, competitive spirit and teamwork skills. Even though this will not be swim lessons it is also important the coach has specific ability to teach form, technique and good competition methods. Swim coach is responsible for knowing how to apply swim competition techniques to practice and meets by being organized and working within the visions and mission of the Lemont Park District. Organizational skills will also be used for administrative duties such as posting results, ordering uniforms and others assigned by the aquatics supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must be 18 years of age or older
  • Must be First aid, CPR and AED certified
  • 1 – 2 years experience preferred
  • Understands USA swimming rules, codes and safety regulations
  • Creating and implementing practice workouts
  • Proficient with Meet Manager and Team Manager software
