Spring is here! Many people believe that spring is the best season of the year. The days get longer. The weather gets warmer. People come out of their homes and start the pleasurable work of getting flowers planted and cleaning yards. We start to see things blossom, to sprout, to grow, to rise out of the ground and become beautiful parts of our world. Well, if you look here at the Lemont Park District, you’ll see things growing as well. We are making the parks and our facilities a gathering place for the entire Lemont community. We would like to direct you to the President’s letter on p. 7 to see all of the growing that is starting this spring.

What we want to see grow the most, is a sense of pride, a sense of community, a sense of being part of Lemont and its Park District. The planning has been completed. It’s time for growth! We are building it for you, growing for you. Our staff has been working so hard for so long to make our Park District something to be proud of. Now with our new facilities and its first class staff we are making something that seemed so far off just a few years ago, a reality. It has been a team effort, from our employees, to the dedicated and tireless park board of commissioners which I am so proud to work with.

As you see, we are so excited with spring this year. When you visit us at our Centennial site this year, look around. Things are going to look a lot different. We are very proud of the improvements we are making for you, the people and families of Lemont. We hope when you see the finished product, you will be just as proud as we are of your new facilities.
